frequently asked questions
How far in advance should we book?
My sessions are book 2-3 weeks in advance, and I recommend you get in touch as soon as possible to get a date on the calendar!
Where will our session take place?
Outdoors, ideally! There are several great outdoor locations in the suburbs and I would be happy to provide you with some suggestions. I like to schedule outdoor photo sessions during the "golden hour", which is about an hour or two before sunset, around 4:30pm - 7:00pm, depending on the time of year. We can also do a family, children, or couples session in the comfort of your home. All you need is a big, open window! If you have a specific location request, please let me know.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm based out of Farmington but am willing to travel up to 20 miles from my home. Anything outside of that will require a travel fee, depending on where the location is.
Can I have all of the photos including unedited photographs?
Although it may seem like I take million pictures during your 1 hour session, you will not receive all the photos that are taken. It is important to me that my clients receive a finished product. Every image is carefully selected through the culling process and then edited to the style that I have perfected. Giving my clients unedited images would be inaccurate reflection of me as a qualified photographer.
When will we receive our images?
Your gallery of edited images will be delivered within 14 days of your session date. You will have access to a private gallery where you can download, order prints and products and share!
Do I have to order prints through you?
NOPE. You will receive a print release for the digitals that are included in your package but I highly recommend that you print through us as I cannot guarantee the quality of your images from another lab.
What happens if there is bad weather on our date?
At the photographer's discretion, sessions can be rescheduled with 12 hours notice if there is bad weather.
Any advice for great photos?
Don't stress - this is a time to have a lot of fun with your family! Plan on laughing, cuddling, and having a great time. Bring snacks for your children if needed and prep everyone on what you'll be doing. I don't need you to be looking at the camera and smiling the whole time (although we can certainly take those pictures in the beginning). My whole philosophy is to enjoy each other, make each other laugh, and let your love shine through! And lastly, I've said it before, just relaaaaax...
What kind of gear do you use?
I use a Nikon d750 and a variety of lenses throughout the session depending on the situation.
